Why can't I get on the website to register at the time the site opens for registration?
There is often heavy traffic on the web at the beginning of registration. Try again in a few minutes.

How can I get help using the internet to register?
You can get individual help at the public library, or, perhaps from a friend or relative. The registration process is fast and easy. It is the best way to assure you get the classes you want before they close.

How can I add or drop a class after I have already registered?
Login to the lirpalmdesert.com.  After you are logged in click on UPCOMING SESSION.  You can add a class or drop a class by clicking on the green Add/Drop classes for this session.  If a class is full, you cannot add it. Five classes is the maximum.

How will I know if the class I want is in the classroom or on Zoom?
All classes will be identified on the lirpalmdesert.com website as either in classroom or Zoom.

Can I take a Zoom class on my phone or on a tablet?
Yes, both work.

Can I get some instructions on how to use my computer or phone to take a Zoom class?
Yes, contact us with your request at lirpalmdesert@gmail.com

Where are your classrooms and where do I park?
We are located in the COD/PACE classrooms between Gap and Victoria's Secret on the ground floor at Westfield Shopping Mall. You can park in back of Westfield mall (parking lot entrance on Monterey Street) near World Gym. Do not park in spaces marked “World Gym.” The back door to COD (and the LIR classrooms) is between World Gym and the Security Office. You will see a wide loading driveway leading to the COD door on the right side. It is marked with a large COD sign. Enter and make an immediate left through the hallway and into the COD reception area. Turn right for the three LIR classrooms.

Can I park on the second level?
Yes, but you have to take the escalator, if operating, down to the first floor to get to the LIR classrooms which are below the food court on the first floor. At the bottom of the escalator, make a sharp U turn to the right and walk down the corridor to the COD reception area. Enter, turn right and proceed to the LIR classrooms. There is also an elevator next to the former location of Sears.

Is there a shuttle from the parking lot to the COD entrance?
There is no shuttle, but you can be dropped off at the entrance to the loading dock driveway at the back entrance to COD between World Gym and the Security Office.

Are wheelchairs permitted in the classrooms?
Yes

Can a caregiver for a disabled student accompany the student without registering?
Yes

How can I be added to the contact list to learn about registration dates, new classes, etc?
You are automatically added to our contact list when you register for a class at the website: lirpalmdesert.com.  If you have not registered for a class, but would like to receive updates from LIR regarding new classes, registration dates, etc. please do the following: Go to lirpalmdesert.com and click on JOIN OUR EMAIL LIST button. Just complete the information requested AND CLICK JOIN.

How can I be deleted from an e-mail list?
Click on the “unsubscribe” option at the bottom of a gmail. Also, you may request to be removed from g-mail via the web “contact us” option.  If you want to be removed from a class, you can also drop a class by following the instructions to add or drop a class.

What time and day is the class I enrolled in?
Class times, dates and class descriptions are on the lirpalmdesert.com webpage. Make a note of it!  Class schedules are posted near the classroom doors when the term begins.

How can I reach a board member by e-mail?
You can send a message info@lirplamdesert.com. All board members have access to that email account.How can I get help if I have problems paying online?

Can I get a refund if I cannot attend classes I registered for?
The charge is $45 for one to five classes.  Therefore, only if you choose to take zero classes, can a refund be processed, minus a small service fee.  It’s better to add a class you can attend.

Can I still register if I come after classes start?
Possibly, depending on the class. The best way to assure you can get into the classes you want is to register for the term online before the term begins and start attending the class when you can. Once the registration period closes, which is usually before the term begins, no more enrollments will be possible.

Where are the film classes?
Check the available classes on the lirpalmdesert.com website. Classrooms are equipped for showing movies.  Some film classes may be offered on Zoom, as indicated on the website.
